State Colts team members Correy Price (Mandurah) and John Martino (WA Golf Club) have won the 2009 Open Foursome Championship of Western Australia at Royal Perth Golf Club in a sudden death playoff. Price and Martino followed their first round 73 with a 4 under par 68 which included a final nine holes of 3 under 32 to force a playoff against clubhouse leaders Tony McFadyean (Joondalup) and Cruze Strange (Royal Perth).
McFadyean and Strange had rounds of 70 and 71 and look certain to take out the title before Price and Martino stormed home, clinching victory on the first playoff hole with a par 4.
Professionals Scott Hunter and Darren Tan took out the professional section with rounds of 75 and 71, one stroke clear of Tony Howell and Chris Gray.
